Iroquois Falls, ON – Pinnacle Logistics Solutions Ltd. has established a rail-served staging site in Iroquois Falls, Ontario, to support construction logistics for the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) Redevelopment Project along Ontario’s James Bay coast.
The site, known as Abitibi Connex, is a former paper mill that offered Pinnacle a rare combination of scale, existing infrastructure, and strategic rail access into Ontario’s Far North. By reusing brownfield infrastructure, Pinnacle was able to reduce capital expenditures and begin operations sooner while maintaining flexibility as the project ramps up.

Project background
Pomerleau, one of Canada’s largest construction firms, is leading the $1.8-billion WAHA Redevelopment Project, which will deliver a new regional healthcare campus serving communities in Moosonee, Moose Factory, and along Ontario’s James Bay coast.
As Pomerleau’s logistics partner, Pinnacle is responsible for coordinating the receipt, storage, and sequencing of materials required to construct the new healthcare facilities – a critical role for a project being delivered in a remote environment.
Making it work
Abitibi Connex met Pinnacle’s requirements through its existing power, water, and rail infrastructure, as well as proximity to a skilled workforce developed through decades of industrial activity in the region. BMI Group carried out targeted remediation and site upgrades to support Pinnacle’s operational needs.
